Catholic Charities

On May 26, 2022, 0-3: Prime Age to Engage, in partnership with the Carpenter’s Union Local #948, D2: Worldwide, Siouxland Community Foundation and SHIP, delivered a bookshelf and books to Catholic Charities (1601 Military Road). The shelf was once again built by Ernest Colt and apprentices at the Carpenter’s Union, with amazing artwork done by Dave Parker. Books were donated by D2: Worldwide and a grant from the Siouxland Community Foundation, which also purchased building materials for the bookshelf.

Students at Girls Inc. are excited to have a new 0-3 free bookshelf! The shelf was built and donated by Dave Parker of the Carpenter's Union, and books were donated by Liz Roscovius of D2: Worldwide. 0-3 posters were created and donated by students of the Sioux City Community School District. Now Girls Inc. students can take home free books for themselves and their younger siblings!

YMCA Bookshelf

The Norm Waitt Sr. YMCA has a brand new 0-3 free bookshelf! Children and families visiting the Y can take books home to build up their personal libraries, and enjoy reading together! The shelf was built and donated by Dave Parker of the Carpenter's Union, the books were donated by Liz Roscovius of D2: Worldwide, and the posters were designed and donated by students of the Sioux City Community School District!

The 0-3: Prime Age to Engage initiative delivered two more bookshelves today, to the Express Laundry locations at 2763 Floyd Blvd in Sioux City, and at 1100 Dakota Avenue in South Sioux. Now children waiting while parents do laundry can enjoy free books that they can also keep and take home with them! Pictured are Dave Parker, an officer with the local Carpenter's Union (who built, detailed and donated the shelves), Liz Roscovius with D2: Worldwide (who donated the books) and Matt Ohman, SHIP Executive Director.

A New Bookshelf!

0-3: Prime Age to Engage delivered another bookshelf today to Express Laundry at 2730 Myrtle! The bookshelf will offer free books to children and families while they do their laundry - and the books go home with the kids! Many thanks to our partners at the Carpenter's Union for building and donating the shelf, and to D2: Worldwide for donating the books!

Meet our newest partner!

Siouxland Women's Health Care is one of our newest partners in the 0-3: Prime Age to Engage initiative! SWHC (including Dr. LaFavor, pictured) is distributing new books and reading prescriptions to all of their pregnant patients, to educate on the importance of reading and interacting with their newborn child!

New 0-3 bookshelf delivered to Unity Point Family Health Clinic in Sgt. Bluff!

Unity Point's Family Health Clinic in Sergeant Bluff is the latest location for our 0-3: Prime Age to Engage bookshelves! Children visiting the clinic can read the books while they wait, and even take the books home with them! Many thanks to David Johnson of the Carpenter's Union, for building and donating the shelf, to D2: Worldwide for providing and replenishing the books, and to Unity Point for hosting and maintaining the shelf. Families and children visiting the Hall Law Firm (701 Pierce Street, Suite 202) can now enjoy reading books while in the waiting room, and can even take the books home with them to keep!
